This Tuesday, September 08, 2020, the Fonds Africain de Garantie et de Coop\u00e9ration Economique (FAGACE) organized at the BEAC in Ndjamena, under the chairmanship of the Secretary of State for Finance and Budget Mrs. Ndolenodji Alixe Naimbaye representing Mr. Tahir Hamid NGUILIN, Minister of Finance and Budget of Chad and Governor of Chad at FAGACE, a technical exchange meeting with members of the Government, banks and other financial institutions, on the theme: FINANCING THE CHADIAN ECONOMY: WHAT ROLE FOR FAGACE?<\/p>\n

On this occasion, the FAGACE delegation was led by Mrs Emmanuelle MIGAN, Regional Representative of the Fund in Central Africa, representing the Managing Director Mr Ngu\u00e9to Tiraina YAMBAYE.<\/p>\n

Placed under the banner of strengthening cooperation between the Fund and the Republic of Chad, the opening ceremony was attended by numerous economic partners and the country’s political authorities.<\/p>\n

In initiating this meeting, FAGACE, in its capacity as a development institution, is fully in line with the Chadian government’s efforts to encourage and support the development of the country’s economic activities for inclusive growth, notably through SMEs and in the priority sectors of agriculture, industry, infrastructure and services.<\/p>\n

The Fonds Africain de Garantie et de Coop\u00e9ration Economique is an international financial institution created on February 10, 1977 in Kigali by the OCAM<\/a> Heads of State Conference. Specializing in the promotion of public and private investment, it contributes to the economic and social development of its member states, and currently comprises fourteen (14) countries: Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo, C\u00f4te d’Ivoire, Guinea Bissau, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal and Togo. Since its creation, FAGACE has mobilized more than 2,500 billion CFA francs for the benefit of the economies of its member states, thanks to its various interventions, including guarantees, direct financing, equity investments and interest-rate subsidies.<\/p>\n

Chad joined FAGACE in 2011, and the Fund’s operations in the country need to be strengthened. The aim of this exchange and experience-sharing meeting is to develop synergistic actions with financial institutions for the benefit of productive projects initiated in Chad.<\/p>\n

This mission marks a decisive turning point in relations between the Fund and the Republic of Chad. Through the jointly agreed development priorities, and the Monitoring Committee to be set up, the Fund’s main objective is not only to strengthen cooperation with the Government, but also to respond more effectively to the essential needs of Chadian economic operators, in order to accelerate the implementation of development projects, and to deepen dialogue with the private sector, civil society and other technical and financial partners.<\/p>\n
