In line with its mission to assist the poorest member states and as part of the revitalization of cooperative relations between FAGACE and the Central African Government, a FAGACE mission visited Bangui from July 23 to 29, 2014.
During this mission, technical meetings were held with all the Central African nation’s key players: government authorities, economic operators, chamber of commerce, employers, national transition council, etc.
Discussions with the various authorities, in particular the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, Handicrafts and SMEs, revealed the following:
- The creation of the National Guarantee and Investment Fund by the Central African Government to support SMEs
- Operationalization of the SME and Crafts Assistance Center (CAPMEA)
- The creation of a committee to follow up the recommendations of the Round Table on the issue of financing the Central African private sector organized by FAGACE in November 2010.
- Revitalization of the 1 billion FAGACE guarantee line to CBCA
All these actions should contribute to the effective recovery of the Central African economy in the current socio-political crisis.
