The African Guarantee and Economic Cooperation Fund turned 45 on February 10, 2022. Symbolic date chosen by the Chadian President, Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno, to receive his Director General, Ngueto Tiraïna Yambaye. This hearing comes at the end of a mission of exchanges and work with the various local partners of the Institution.
Beyond the symbolism, the discussions with President Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno focused in particular on the situation of the Institution, the results of cooperation as well as the prospects of FAGACE’s contribution to the Chadian economy.
In response, the Director General of FAGACE indicated that “the African Guarantee and Economic Cooperation Fund is in Chad to strengthen the capacities of the banking sector to increase its capacity to grant credit to economic operators. This will help reduce pressure on the public treasury.”
In his presentation, Ngueto Tiraïna Yambaye also recalled that in addition to its traditional mission of guaranteeing investments, FAGACE not only makes it possible to raise funds on the financial markets but also provides technical support through financial engineering for the benefit of financing. productive projects of its member states.
To this end, the Director General of FAGACE reaffirmed the availability of the Fund to support the Chadian Government in financing strategic sectors of its economy such as housing through the Housing Bank, partner of FAGACE, but also modernization strategic sectors of livestock and agriculture.
On these subjects, the Director General of FAGACE benefited from high-level advice and support from the President of Chad in order to strengthen cooperation and take the Institution even further.
