Position location: Cotonou (Benin)
Under the authority of the Board of Directors, the Director General is responsible for the technical, financial and administrative management of the Fund and represents it before third parties.
Main missions and responsibilities
Prepare and submit for adoption by the Board of Directors, the budget, financial statements, annual report and development plan of the Fund;
Ensure the management of day-to-day activities
Equip and optimize the skills and motivate the Fund’s staff, within the framework of the policy defined by the Board of Directors;
Implement the Fund’s investment and reserve management policy;
Before taking office, sign a performance contract under the responsibility of the Board of Directors;
Implement a product marketing strategy and continue to create new products.
Profile
You have a BAC + 5 level diploma in one of the following fields: Banking, Economics, Finance, Business Management, Management, Business Law, Statistics, Planning, or Project Management or equivalent and you have at at least ten (10) years of professional experience, including at least five (5) years at the head of a National or International Financial Institution or a Public Administration responsible for economic and financial affairs. You are aged at least 35 to 65 years at most as of December 31, 2016, are of good moral character, are physically capable of occupying the position and are in compliance with the laws and regulations of your country in particular those of the Tax Office, Social Security and/or civic or military. You are a national of one of the 14 member states, excluding non-eligible countries (Benin, the Central African Republic, Niger, Senegal and Togo). You have an address book and a good signature in the world of African financial institutions. You have a good understanding of the functioning of guarantee funds, the environment of International Institutions in general and those with a development mission in particular. You are fluent in French (spoken and written) and have a good knowledge of English and/or Portuguese (an asset). You have solid knowledge in strategic management, master IT tools and ICT. You have great analytical, organizational and management skills and have proven know-how in negotiating with partners. You are recognized for your spirit of initiative, your sense of ethics, rigor and responsibility. You have unifying qualities, you are able to lead a multicultural team and work under pressure.
