OPERATIONAL START OF THE “YOUNG PROFESSIONALS OF FAGACE” PROGRAM

Launched on April 1, 2022 by FAGACE, the “Young Professionals program” received more than 2,000 applications from the 14 Member States. After pre-selection, online testing and interview phases, this April 3, 2023, this program enters its operational phase.

As a reminder, for 46 years, the African Guarantee and Economic Cooperation Fund has regularly recruited young graduates as interns within the institution. In order to improve the management of their recruitment and their collaboration with the institution, the Fund created the Young Professionals program.

Indeed, this program brings two important changes:

  • Trainees of several nationalities from Member States have been recruited according to more specific profiles and will therefore be oriented towards activities which will strengthen their capacities in the technical fields linked to their profiles and for which they have a strong interest;
  • The Fund will develop a professional development plan for the benefit of interns in order to enable them to acquire the skills and competencies that are most in demand on the job market.

These changes will be beneficial to both program participants and FAGACE. Program participants (young professionals) will have the chance to strengthen their technical capabilities and gain professional experience. In return, the Fund will benefit from the support of young professionals in its activities and will also have contributed to the professional development of human capital internationally and in its areas of intervention.

It should be noted that the FAGACE Young Professionals Program is required to be renewed annually.
