The Director General of the African Guarantee and Economic Cooperation Fund (FAGACE), Mr. Ngueto Tiraïna YAMBAYE, led a Mission to Libreville, Gabon, from March 13 to 17, 2023.
On this occasion, the delegation was received in audience by H.E.M. Alain Claude Bilie By NZE, Prime Minister of Gabon, Head of Government. The discussions focused on FAGACE’s desire to play a more important role in the financial ecosystem of Central Africa and more particularly Gabon.
As a prelude to this audience, the Mission was received by the Minister of the Economy and Recovery, Mrs. Nicole Jeanine Lydie ROBOTY Epse MBOU, Mr. Hugues MBADINGA MADIYA, Minister of Investment and Public-Private Partnerships, responsible for the improvement of the business environment and Mr. Pascal Houangni Ambourouet, the Minister of Commerce, Small and Medium Enterprises in charge of national entrepreneurship and the Social Economy.
During the mission, FAGACE also organized a plenary meeting to present the advantages of Gabon’s membership in FAGACE to members of the Government. This session brought together:
- the Minister of Water, Forests, the Sea, the Environment, Responsible for the Climate Plan, and the Land Use Plan: Mr. Lee WHITE;
- the Minister of Investment Promotion, Public-Private Partnerships, responsible for Improving the business environment: Mr. Hugues MBADINGA MADIYA;
- the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, responsible for rural development: Mr. Charles MVE ELLA;
- the Minister of Commerce, Small and Medium Enterprises, responsible for national entrepreneurship and the social economy, Mr. Yves Fernand MANFOUMBI;
- the Minister Delegate to the Minister of Commerce, Small and Medium Enterprises, responsible for national entrepreneurship and the social economy: Mr. Emmanuel EYEGHE NZE;
- the Minister of Mines and Geology: Mr. Elvis OSSINDJI;
- the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning: Mr. Olivier NANG EKOMIYE.
At the end of the discussions during the mission, it emerges from the various communications that Gabon’s economy is changing. In this context, economic operators and financial institutions in the market need to be further supported, in particular by the Guarantee tools offered by FAGACE, to more effectively support the dynamism driven by the Government.
