NOTICE OF CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

The Fonds Africain de Garantie et de Coopération Economique (FAGACE) is a genuine instrument in the financing mechanism for Africa’s development. Over the past 46 years, it has played an important role in promoting the economic integration of its fourteen member states, with more than 3,000 billion FCFA mobilized through its interventions.

Drawing on its own experience, the Fund is aware of the need to modernize in the face of an ever-changing international environment, and in an Africa with a strong need for integration.

Within the framework of the new 2021-2025 Strategic Plan, which constitutes our Institution’s compass over the next five (05) years, it is important to present FAGACE’s vision, which can be summed up as follows:

“To make FAGACE a modern institution that contributes to development financing and economic and financial integration in Africa”.

Therefore, in alignment with this vision, the Fund seeks to hire a highly qualified Archivist Documentalist who will be under the direct supervision of the Secretary General with the following missions and responsibilities:

Duties and responsibilities:

To process, select and maintain archives in their historical, legal and administrative context, thus respecting their provenance, preserving and making manifest their original interrelationships;
Preserve the authenticity of documents during processing, conservation and use;
To ensure that documents are always communicable and understandable;
Account for document processing and justify the methods used;
Facilitate access to archives for as many users as possible, and offer their services impartially to all users;
Work in collaboration with colleagues to ensure the universal preservation and use of documentary heritage;
Monitor compliance of the archiving system with current regulations.

Profile:

– Hold a BAC+5 in Sciences et Technique de l’Information Documentaire or History with a specialization in Archivistics, Librarianship and Digital Heritage, or any other equivalent qualification;

– At least five (05) years’ proven professional experience as an archivist or documentalist;

– Ability to quickly learn how to use software;

– Good computer skills and mastery of archiving software packages and digital archiving techniques;

– Proficiency in Office 360 and its office automation fleet (Word, advanced Excel, Powerpoint), and in electronic document management software;

– Organize work time efficiently and meet deadlines;

– Ability to work alone or as part of a team, and to report on activities;

– Be rigorous and autonomous, reactive and proactive;

– Have a good level of English and other foreign languages;

Ability to work under pressure;
Excellent analytical and summarizing skills;
Good character and ability to work as part of a team;
A sense of responsibility and professional restraint;
Ability to manage priorities and make proposals;
Be a national of one of the Fund’s 14 member states;
Be immediately available;

– Age limit: Maximum 45 years on December 31, 2023.

Job location: Cotonou, BENIN

Type of employment contract: Fixed-term contract with a trial period of six (06) months (if successful, signature of a permanent contract).

– A letter of motivation duly signed by the candidate and addressed to the General Manager of FAGACE;

– A detailed curriculum vitae (plus a color photo). The CV must include details of your various employers, as well as three (03) professional references and their contacts (e-mail and telephone);

– Work certificates covering the number of years required for the position to be filled;

– Certified copies of diplomas and training certificates (if applicable);

– Copy of national identity card, birth certificate and certificate of nationality;

– Criminal record less than three (03) months old.
